What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up? I am an empty nester. Once the kids moved out, it left me with a lot of time to think. I realized my weight was out of control, and I had forgotten about ME. So my motivation was about self-love.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I got the gastric sleeve on July 12, 2021.
How did you change your eating habits?
I stopped drinking soda/pop and replaced it with water. I don’t eat pasta and very little bread. For example, I might pick up a whopper, but I will only eat the meat, cheese, and vegetables (no bread). I eat fruit or nuts for a snack. I try to eat mostly protein and vegetables.
What is your workout routine?
I started by walking on the treadmill, and now I get on the stationary bike.
How often did you work out?
I work out for 30 minutes 3-4 times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 364 pounds, and my current weight is 254 pounds.
What is your height?
5’5″
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
It definitely has to be a lifestyle change.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Don’t give up! You will have times where you will fall off the wagon, but get up and start again…and again!
