Featured weight loss story of the day: Shalaunda lost 165 pounds going form 386 pounds to 221 pounds. She gives God the Glory and feels that the weight loss was a side effect of her spiritual growth. Here is what she had to say about her weight release journey:
“God be the Glory! He’s a keeper of His WORD! I’ve gone from 386 pounds, 52 inch waist, size 28 at age 32 to 221 pounds, 29 inch waist the age of 43 years old (5’9 1/2 inches tall). I’ll tell it all! If it will encourage somebody to know “YOUR Past don’t dictate your future.
I had been on thyroid medicine that was taking my hair out and making my teeth loose because it eats calcium and affects your liver. I tried a lot of things to lose weight. I’d loose weight and then gain it back because it was more than just weight that needed to be dealt with. So, I began to fast and pray then God revealed the true enemies inside of me; my mind, my soul, my self will, past hurts, shame, pain, etc. Through fasting and prayer things where revealed to me and I was able to know that I can empty myself out to God, fast and pray. The weight loss began to be just a side effect my goal, my focus had to be spiritual not physical. Gluttony had to release its hold on me. Fear of failure (self abasement) had to leave. Now the weight just keeps falling off. During all this God gave me wisdom on what to eat and drink and I no longer have hypothyroidism! My mind is changed and His WORD became my main food. It really does heal, fill and nourish. I have six children and never did I think I’d see their friends hitting on me. I like walking with weights and twisting while I walk. That’s my main exercise in addition to working outs with home DVDs.
I’ve played the Yoyo plenty of times with fad diets but you never know how much power you have until you take control. Knowledge is power. Natural herbs, leaves and seasoning can be used to balance your body out just by boiling, stepping and making it tea. Also for seasoning your food. I have a lot of things posted on my page that are helpful, such as coffee enemas which are a lifesaver. Again, knowledge is power.”

Any industry needs products, diverse products. If you’re in business, you also have to create new products to keep your marketshare and keep your customers interested. The way this works in the diet industry is that there are new fads, books and workout styles that become popular each year and those that die out. Sometimes the old diet and exercise fads will come back, and sometimes they are exposed as fads and abandoned by their followers. Buying into all of these plans and equipment can be very expensive, especially if you don’t lose weight with these plans.
