Weight Loss Story of the Day: Jeanette lost 138 pounds with weight loss surgery. Although weight loss was the cause of her divorce, Jeanette refused to give up. The proud grandmother is committed to losing the weight. Check out what she shared with us:
Hi my name is Jeanette Taylor I had RNY weight loss surgery on 11/5/12 at 440 pounds at my highest and now I weigh 302 pounds. I wanted to be here to see, play with, and just enjoy my grandchildren. After surgery, I started looking at YouTube videos of other people before and after having gastric bypass surgery. That helped a lot with my eating habits and motivated me. I rode my elliptical bike through out the day for the first year. 11 months later I had shoulder replacement surgery. After that, I started going to work out with a personal trainer, then to the gym on my own. I’ve been doing water aerobics as well. I’ve been at this for a month and I’m loving it. My advice is never give up on yourself. You can do it.
I was happily married, or so I thought. When I started to go on diet and change my eating habits, my husband would complain and ask why do I want to get smaller. So, I would get off the diet trying to please my husband. My health was going down and I couldn’t even walk in a store anymore. I decided that I was not going to let myself die looking like this. I started doing research on weight loss and started loosing weight. My husband said to me that when he came home Friday from work (he worked out of town) I better not have lost another pound or he was leaving. So, when he came in town on Friday I had changed the locks and his clothes were packed outside with a note that said “I’ve lost 4 pounds. Good bye and have a nice life.”. I’ve never looked back and I love me some Jeanette.
Hi my name is Sha. I have been overweight most of my life. It was mostly because of a medicine called prednisone. I ate like any other regular young teen or young adult. I always loved dance and basketball so I leveled off at around 220 – 250 pounds at 5’7, which I thought was not so bad at first because I could still do the things I always did. I just figured that it was my destiny to be a plus-size girl forever so I just accepted it. I was able to start a career in acting in 2005 and what was even more awesome was that it was a dance movie called “Take the Lead”. Anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE DANCE so this was an awesome blessing and I thought I would do more.

Update from

My Journey was not an easy one. I had so many trials going on at one time. My family was affected by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, In 2006 my son (who never been in trouble) was facing charges of 10 yrs. He was charged with Guilt by Association in Oklahoma City and I didn’t have the finances to get an attorney (He was cleared of all Charges). By 2008, I was going thru a divorce. So long story short ” Life Happened”.
