Update: We have been following Candice’s journey since 2014 and she is truly an inspiration. Check out some highlights from her journey and what she’s shared with us about her transformation.

March 2014 – Weight Loss Success Story of the Day: Candice lost over 260 pounds, down from a starting weight of 460 pounds. She did it without surgery, by employing the time tested methods of eating right and exercising. She is an inspiration!!! Here is what she shared with us;

“I have lost over 260+ pounds, all naturally, and I want to show the world they can do it too!!! I started at 460 pounds. I changed my eating plan and added fitness into my life. Now I am addicted. I no longer cut corners or overeat and when I’m depressed, I just workout. I work full time, go to school and make my fitness and health a priority now!
My motivation was just that I got tired of being miserable after hitting almost 500 pounds. I was tired of being limited and barely being able to walk or do really much of anything. I finally just got it into my mind that enough was enough. I did change my eating habits by following the Weight Watchers program. It was simple to me and I love to be organized. My workout routine started out at just five minutes a day because that’s all I could really do. Now, I do over 2 hours a day but not because I have to. It’s because I love it. Fitness is changed my life. I hit my goal of 180 pounds last year and I am now 210 pounds, probably because I have started weight training. It took me over 4 years. Never give up. Stop making excuses. If I can do it anyone can do it

At my heaviest, I was 197 pounds which was in March of 2013. I then knew that I had to do something about it. I knew I was lazy but if I put myself in something fun it would help me reach my goal. I joined a flag football team! I also ate better, drank lots of water and the weight just fell off. Now, since the season is over, I knew I had to keep busy so I joined a bootcamp and I’m sticking with it! I lost my first 5 pounds in July 2013 and I am now 165 pounds as of February 2014! I have made it a lifestyle and I now try to encourage others on their weight lost journey as well on my Instagram:

It happens to everyone. You are going strong with your diet and exercise program and seeing results for the first few months, and then all the progress stops. Welcome to the classic weight loss plateau. It is normal to lose more weight in the first few months per week as you change your lifestyle habits and then to settle into a steady pound a week loss (or for some even less). Here is some info on how to break through that weight loss plateau.
