Amazing Weight Loss Transformation: Dee Dee lost 225 pounds. At 380 pounds, she was suffering from a number of serious health issues. She transformed her health and her weight. Now, she’s a radio host, weight loss counselor and nutritionist. She shared with us about the actions she took to change her life.

I am submitting my weight loss success story to inspire others to fight obesity in the black community. What motivated me was when my doctor informed me that my kidneys were at 3.5 renal failure. I also had diabetes, extreme high blood pressure, sleep apena, asthma and high cholesterol. That right there was my inspiration to totally change my lifestyle.
I changed my eating habits immediately, letting go of fast food, high calorie foods, sugar laden foods and soda. I even stopped drinking diet drinks, juices, etc. I went on a clean diet, became vegetarian and drank water and green tea only.
My workout routine consists of 6 days a week in the gym; upper body, lower body and abs. I also walk 6-7 miles a week.
My starting weight was 380 pounds and now I weigh 155 pounds. I am 5’3″ tall. My transformation took approximately two years.
My transformation has led me to a greater height and greater devotion. Now, I am a certified weight management counselor and personal nutritionist specializing in children and sports nutrition. My advice for others who want to lose weight is: Be selfish. This is ALL ABOUT YOU! Love and forgive yourself. Visualize yourself as the queen you truly are. It is time to walk into your destiny.
I have a web radio show, “The Fitness Diva” every 2nd Saturday of the month on www.tribefamilychannel.com at 1:00 pm CST. My website: www.

I began working out by doing Zumba 4 days a week (one hour each class) and walking. I started eating right, cutting out soda and junk food (I may still eat a lil sometimes..lol). I drank lots of water and started eating more baked food, more fruit and more vegetables.

My name is Cassandra Beavers and I’m from Talladega, AL. I started my weight loss journey back in February 2015. High blood pressure and heart problems run in my family, so I decided to take control of my life to be a better person mentally and physically. My 11 year old daughter has inspired me to get healthier.
